In preparation for their own interpretation of Romeo and Juliet, Haringey Shed's Youth Theatre worked with the artist Akala from the Hip Hop Shakespeare Company.
Akala is a MOBO award-winning rapper from North London who has a passion for making Shakespeare accessible through Hip Hop. Using everything Akala had taught them, the young people then went on to create 'Affections in the Bakery Section', their version of Romeo and Juliet set in two warring supermarket departments. They performed the show as part of ShedFest in July 2010.
