Haringey Shed Inclusive Theatre Company are proud to be working in partnership with Attend Academy, an organisation that aims to provide nationally accredited training and development opportunities tailored to the needs of volunteer involving organisations.

Helping Others To Learn is a fun and accessible course that uses drama and storytelling to enable young adults with learning difficulties to develop mentoring skills. Over a twelve week period in a series of practical workshops, participants learn how to unlock and develop their own stories and to share these skills to help others become storytellers. Accredited by the Open College Network, the course is designed to boost confidence, encourage self-expression and prepare participants for voluntary work and other employment possibilities.

The course is for 16 – 25 year olds who are interested in developing their skills as drama practitioners and story tellers. At the end of the course there is the opportunity to continue working with Haringey Shed in their Children’s and Youth Theatre Companies.

Helping Others to Learn begins on Saturday 12th September 2009 and runs until Saturday 12th December at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in Seven Sisters.

For more information or if you are interested in joining the course please contact Lucy Clark at lucy@haringeyshed.org or call 020 8365 5453. The deadline for applications is Friday 28th August.
