Established in August 2000, Haringey Shed is an inclusive performing arts organisation for children and young people, with and without disabilities.
The aim of the charity is to improve the lives of children and young people, encourage their independence and integration into the community, through access to the creative arts, including music, dance, and drama.
Our work has four main strands: (1) performing arts activities for children and young people; (2) performance and events; (3) community arts outreach; (4) volunteering and developing inclusive arts practitioners.
We are intentionally situated within close proximity to some of the most widely disadvantaged wards in London, where young people locally lack significant role models, support and guidance, and access to the arts.

“I was truly honored to be asked to become a patron of Haringey Shed, knowing the importance and quality of the work they do from the longstanding relationship they have with Hackney Empire. Enabling children of all abilities to access high quality performing arts feels more important than ever. Haringey Shed truly is a place “Where Everyone Has a Part to Play”.

“I believe passionately in the power of performing arts to change lives and that creative opportunities should be available to everyone irrespective of ability or background. I am delighted to lend my support to the amazing work Haringey Shed does.”

“Haringey Shed is a safe place to be, a place where you’re not judged. Where you can find out who you are. I think Haringey Shed gives young people a huge amount of confidence and that is what our young people need to take with them on their journey.”

"Haringey Shed was my first experience of theatre. The whole ethos was: what can we do with who we are and what we have? It was really raw and honest. I feel very emotional to be returning as a patron."

“I grew up in Tottenham and I’m passionate about theatre. I have thoroughly enjoyed any time spent at Haringey Shed and I am moved to see the inclusivity, creativity and joy that they weave with beautiful magic. Haringey Shed are doing such important work. Allowing children from an early age to find their tribe, and unleash their creativity in a safe, uplifting, compassionate space. It makes me very proud and honoured to be asked to be a Patron.”

"I have been a patron of Haringey Shed for nearly 20 years. I am so proud of the charity and all of its achievements over that time. Watching performances is always a joy but we should also appreciate the huge value of the ongoing work done throughout the year in after-school sessions and holiday projects."

“Haringey Shed has been dear to my heart since I directed their very first summer shows in 2001 with musical director Warren Wills and then returned every summer for the next 7 years. It’s been a joy to watch it grow into the incredible organisation it is today. Working with them taught me so much & I am grateful & proud to support them & the young people they work with.”
